The Challenge

Create an automated program that reads barcodes and crops signatures from documents received on a daily basis through fax and other digital means.

The Solution

A Microsoft .NET service, written in C#, was created to run in the background on a Microsoft Windows 2003 Server. The service can handle the processing of up to 5 documents per second, and easily scales to meet the needs of the organization, which receives several hundred document submissions per hour. The status of scans is easily readable by NVC's custom-built tracking system, allowing them to further work with the documents after the scanning and cropping processes have been completed.

The Results

Employees can now spend more time on other, more important tasks, instead of manually cataloging the thousands of invoices received on a daily basis.
